Love a lighthouse? This yearly event allows people to explore the grounds and climb the towers of two dozen historic Maine lighthouses, the romantic guardians of the coast and protectors of mariners for hundreds of years. Lighthouses will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. unless noted otherwise. Maine Open Lighthouse Day’s website tells which lighthouses are open. Plan a visit and find other great things to do in Maine.
