Lots of Connecticut towns – along with railway and trolley museums – welcome kids and parents for Easter egg hunts and excursion rides this month. Parents, scan the list below; the hunt is already underway!
April 12 — Have fun with the Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt in Windsor. Children ages 1-12 are welcome to enjoy an evening of fun, arts and crafts, and games.
April 13 — In Vernon, children ages 1-12 will get a chance to hunt for special eggs for each age group at the Easter Egg Hunt .
April 13 – The Eggstravangza in Essex takes place at 10 a.m. for children up to second grade.
April 13 – The yearly Easter Egg Scramble at Fairfield’s Easter EggStravaganza includes music, food trucks, and a family fun zone.
April 13 — Newtown’s EverWonder Children’s Museum hosts an egg hunt, visit with the Easter Bunny and live animals at its annual Easter Egg Hunt.
April 19 – The trails of Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center in Mystic are dotted with hidden eggs and friendly animals. The Woodland Egg Hunt is best suited for children up to 10 years of age.
April 19 — Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center hosts its annual Egg Hunt in Bristol.
April 19 – A day of fun called the EggStravaganza is held at Torrington’s KidsPlay Museum.
Train Rides with the Easter Bunny are underway now in Thomaston, East Haven, Danbury, East Windsor, Connecticut
April 13, 14, and 20 — East Bunny Express at the Railroad Museum of New England in Thomaston. A scenic train ride on the Naugatuck Railroad includes a visit from the Easter Bunny. Reservations recommended.
April 13, 14, 19, and 20 — Easter Bunny Trolley Rides at the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven. Children can meet the Easter Bunny, do springtime crafts and explore historic trolleys on display.
April 13, 14, 19, and 20 — Train Rides to Visit the Easter Bunny at the Danbury Railway Museum in Danbury. Take a ride in a restored New Haven Railroad Diesel Car; see vintage railroad cars and locomotives; and stop at the Easter Bunny’s special railroad car! Enjoy the restored 1910 Railway Post Office car and model trains.
April 13-14 and April 19-20 — Easter Fun Days at the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor includes an Easter egg scavenger hunt and a trolley ride.
