New Hampshire Maple Experience in Bethlehem, NH on March 14, 21, 22, 28, 29 — At The rocks, a rustic estate, guests may take a tour through time and taste. Maple tours are an experience of hands-on learning. Guests will learn the history of sugaring, help tap a sugar maple tree, enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride through the property, and get a taste of the syrup made at The Rocks.
A Cappella Festival in Somerville, MA, on March 14 — This national competition draws from hundreds of vocal groups from around the country Participating groups include Drive, Bostonality, Daily Special, Distilled Harmony, Iris Vocal Trio, The Lotus Sound, Mass Whole Notes, Mixed MetaFour, and Saffron. 8 p.m.
Owl Prowl at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, VT, on March 13 — Explore the nightly reality of owls on a guided evening walk. Listen for and maybe see some of owls who live on Shelburne Farm their home. Back indoors, warm up with hot refreshments and meet live owls. For adults and kids age 10 and older. Registration required. 7-9 p.m.
Return of the Butterflies Exhibit at ECHO in Burlington, VT, (ongoing) — Enjoy tropical butterflies in this immersive exhibit in ECHO’s Butterfly Pavilion. The exhibit offers great things to do, hands-on activities and interactive fun. Exhibit will be on display through September 7, 2020. Daily, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Piping Plover Beach Party with Maine Audubon at Saco, ME, on March 14 — It’s the perfect party to shake away the winter blues and get ready for spring. Come celebrate our beloved Piping Plovers and all their shorebird friends. Enjoy a guided beach walk, games and activities, a silent auction, and a presentation about shore birds. Activities indoors and outdoors. 4-7 p.m.
Maple Festival and Irish Celebration Day at the Curran Homestead in Orrington, ME, on March 14 — The day opens at the historic Curran Homestead with a pancake breakfast, and continues with an egg hunt, horse-drawn bobsled rides, blacksmithing, tree tapping, sugaring off in the sugar shack, ice harvesting with an ice saw on Fields Pond, hot food and drinks including Irish stew and soda bread. 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
