Cathedral Ledge Road – North Conway, NH.  Map.

The road takes you into Echo Lake State Park. Park in the parking area at the lookout and walk out onto the ledge to see a vast view of Mount Washington Valley. You’ll take in fall foliage from as far as Conway Lake to Attitash Mountain Resort.  [photo: Dan Houde]

Jackson Loop – Jackson, NH.  Map.

Use Routes 16, 16A or 16B to enter and loop around the pretty town of Jackson, including a ride through the Jackson covered bridge.

Conway to Eaton to East Madison, NH. Map.

From Route 16 in Conway, head South on Route 153. This road will take you past beautiful Crystal Lake. Past Crystal Lake on 153 you will see Purity Spring Resort in East Madison. A place to stretch your legs is the trails of King Pine ski area.  [photo: Dan Houde]

Bear Notch Road, Bartlett. Map.

Get onto this drive from Route 302 in Bartlett. This road connects Route 302 to the Kancamaus Highway. This is also a great location for moose-and-bear-spotting, particularly in the early morning or dusk hours.

West Side Road – Conway to Bartlett, NH. Map.

This country road takes you through farmland, past the White Horse and Cathedral Ledges, and along pick your own strawberry farms. You will pass Diana’s Baths and (fyi to parents of young children) Storyland.
