Flowers mimick paintings at gorgeous Flora in Winter at Worcester Art Museum this weekend

The Renaissance Court and other halls and galleries of Worcester Art Museum will be filled with flower arrangements mimicking artworks in this fabulous annual show combining art and nature.

500-flora-in-winter-banner-2018-2.jpgDozens of imaginative floral displays paired with paintings transform Worcester Art Museum into a wonderland of artistry by nature and humans. This year’s theme, “Swept Away,” is inspired by “Coming Away: Winslow Homer and England.”

The weekend includes some fun, hands-on activities:

Plant Nite on January 26. Guests will create a succulent-filled terrarium to take home. 5:30-7 p.m.

peasant_girl-1.jpgOrigami Flower Corsages on January 27 and 28. Drop-in origami-making activity. Various times.

Flora Designing at Home Demonstration and Tour on January 27. Guests see floral designer Mary Huntoon conduct demonstrations.

A concert is Seele Musicale Chamber Ensemble on January 28. Music of the 17th and 18th centuries. 2:30 p.m. Map.
