Gear up for a three-day, two-night hut-to-hut adventure with Maine Huts & Trails. A registered Maine Guide leads you on backcountry trails from Poplar Hut along Crommet’s Overlook on the way to Stratton Brook Hut. Hearty meals, hot showers, woodstoves and friendly people, shuttle for your gear.

Here’s a quick itinerary:

Day One –

Meet your guide at the Airport Trailhead at 1013-1023 Old Husemill Road in Carrabassett Valley. Map. Put your backpack in the shuttle and begin skiing ski with an easy section along the Narrow Gauge Trail. You will join a gentle ascent to the Poplar Hut. (3.2 miles total) Dinnertime!

Day Two –

Breakfast and depart onto Narrow Gauge Trail, then Maine Hut Trail with views from Crommet’s Overlook. Arrive Stratton Brook Hut by afternoon. (7.6 miles total). Enjoy the views of Sugarloaf, Crocker and the Bigelows. Dinner again!

 Day Three –

Breakfast and depart Stratton Brook Hut onto trails back to your vehicle at the Airport Trailhead. (4.8 or 6.7 miles total, depending on route taken)

Dates: January 20-22; February 4-6, March 5-7. All noon to noon.

What’s included: Two nights’ lodging in two different huts, all meals, three gear shuttles and guide for three days.
