Northern Vermont, from Burlington, Shelburne, and Lake Champlain in the west to the Northeast Kingdom in the east, is at its peak of summer beauty now. Don’t get so dazzled by the views and scenic byways to forget all the great things to do and to taste.

Here is a quick hit list: Lake Champlain Chocolate in Burlington; Green Mountain Coffee Café in Waterbury; Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center in Newport; fruit and berry slushies and sno-cones at farms in South Hero and Charlotte and Jerffersonville; all kinds of treats at country stores in Stowe; high tea in Hyde Park and exotic teas in Burlington; summer food celebrations of beer and heirloom tomatoes in Burlington.
