Weston Playhouse in Vermont hosts pre-season "Weston 101" program of videos, movies and interviews to whet your appetite for theater

If you absolutely love dynamic, small, live theater – a prime example being the Weston Playhouse in Weston, Vermont – you will perk up right now to learn that Weston Playhouse Theatre Company’s Weston 101 is coming back in 2018.

 Weston 101 is a chance for fans to get a peek behind the scenes for all of the Playhouse’s 2018 season performances. How? Through:

  •  pre-season screenings of films related to upcoming shows
  • behind-the-scenes interviews drop throughout the spring on the Playhouse’s YouTube and Facebook channels, on the website, and distributed via email (click here to add your name to our mailing list!) Each video includes an introduction to the play and playwright(s), and interviews with cast members or the creative team.
  • a recommended list of supplemental material for further reading, watching, and listening (see below) Click on the titles to view the lists. Then come see the production this summer!

 Live plays on the schedule from mid-June to late October in 2018 are:

“A Doll's House, Part 2”  -- August 2 - August 25

Pre-Season Films and Talk-Back

 Two live 101 events are scheduled for February 27 and March 13 at Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm 705 Main Street, Weston. Join us for screenings of two special films related to our summer shows and hosted by Director of Education Piper Goodeve and Producing Artistic Director Steve Stettler. Reservations are strongly recommended.

 February 27 -- To celebrate the summer production of “West Side Story” and composer Leonard Bernstein’s, Weston 101 will screen a 1985 documentary, produced by the BBC, in which Bernstein conducts Kiri Te Kanawa, Tatiana Troyanos, Jose Carreras, and Kurt Ollmann in a masterful recording of “West Side Story” and tells his own stories about the piece along the way. At Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm, 705 Main Street, Weston 7 p.m.

 March 13 – Come for a special screening of the 1973 Paramount Pictures release of “A Doll's House,” starring Anthony Hopkins and Claire Bloom, based on Henrik Ibsen’s classic play. See where Nora leaves off before you meet her again in our summer production of “A Doll's House Part 2.” At Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm, 705 Main Street, Weston 7 p.m.  Map
