Strolling of the Heifers Weekend, June 7-9 in Brattleboro, VT — This is a weekend of fun and education for the whole family, built around the famous Strolling of the Heifers Parade. On Saturday, the parade kicks off at 10 a.m. with scores of lovable heifer calves led by future farmers. The Slow Living Expo of food, entertainment, animals, tractors, music and family fun follows.
Gaspee Days Parade, June 8 in Warwick, RI — Colonial and fife & drum groups from all over New England and as far as Pennsylvania march along a two-mile stretch to commemorate a Colonial victory over the British. 10 a.m.
Taste of Mystic, June 7-9 at Olde Mistick Village, Mystic, CT — Come sample food from the area’s best restaurants, socialize with friends and family, dance to live bands under a massive tent. Music by Sugar, Dudemanbro, Jay Dempsey Band, The Fake Experience, Greg Piccolo and Heavy Juice, Rusty Nutz and Wicked Peach. Friday, 5-10 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Lupine Festival, June 7-8 in Sugar Hill, NH — Come enjoy an open-air market, free concerts, artisan demonstrations, historic museum and lupine festival inn tours. Take wagon rides through the lupine fields or a helicopter ride above the fields with White Mountains Helicopter. Also: Lupine Inspirational Walk on a mowed path through the Sugar Hill Sampler’s Lupine Fields, with poetry along the way.
Square Hop, June 7 in the public parks of Portland, ME — Portland will hop Friday night with outdoor music and performances in four downtown parks: Fresnel Theater of comedy improve in Post Office Park; Maine Marimba Ensemble in Monument Square; Sea Level & The Memorial Skylight three dimensional soundscape in Congress Square Park; Palaver Strings in Longfellow Square. 6-8 p.m.
Heritage Auto Show, June 8 at Heritage Museums & Gardens, Sandwich, MA — This family-friendly event presents antique and classic automobiles, hot rods, and custom cars in excellent original or restored condition. Visit the family activity table to build a LEGO® car or participate in a family auto show challenge. Rain date is June 9. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; parade of show cars at 2 p.m.

Block Island Music Festival 2019, June 11-16 at Captain Nick’s Rock n’ Roll Bar, 34 Ocean Avenue, Block Island,RI. — This grassroots festival is a six-day musical experience where festival-goers sample music performed by the most talented, undiscovered artists of the New England region. By week’s end, the Block Island Music Festival has played host to 48 musical acts. The barbecue pit will provide free food to all from 5 p.m. until supplies run out for the day. Music begins at 5 p.m. every day.
