Concerts in Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH, on Aug. 30-Sept. 1 — Beautiful Prescott Park, on the Piscataqua River inn Portsmouth, NH, hosts live music and theater all summer. The final weekend of the summer wraps up with Darlingside on August 30, The sheepdogs on August 31, and Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn on September 1. Concerts start at 7 p.m. and suggested donation is $8 to $10.
Garlic and Herb Festival on Route 9W in Bennington, VT, on Aug. 31-Sept. 2 — Come and sample food and crafts from hundreds of different vendors, all made from garlic and herbs: garlic ice cream to garlic jelly, pickled garlic, roasted garlic, garlic braids will be available for sampling and purchase, along with planting, braiding and cooking demos. Lots of live music. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Celebrate Labor Day weekend and the end of summer with a lively performance and an elegant dinner buffet under the stars. This send-off to summer is one of the best of the year’s events. New England Food Truck Festival at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, on Aug. 31- Sept. 1 — This festival will feature more than 30 food trucks, live music, entertainment for kids, face painting, field games and so much more. Saturday night ends with an explosive fireworks show at 9:15pm. Linger until you have sampled all of the best. Saturday, noon- 10 p.m.; Sunday, noon-8 p.m.
Gloucester Schooner Festival at Gloucester Harbor, Gloucester, MA, on Aug. 30-Sept. 3 — Old and new, large and small: a variety of schooners will visit Gloucester Harbor and delight all visitors. Highlight of the Gloucester Schooner Festival is the Parade of Sail on Sunday morning, when schooners travel through the harbor and out past the breakwater, to join the race off Eastern Point.
