Pies on Parade 2020 at the Historic Inns of Camden and Rockland, Maine, on January 24-26 — A weekend of pie-worshiping events events includes a Friday auction and pie gala, Saturday pie scavenger hunt, and the Pies on Parade on Sunday. Berry Manor Inn, LimeRock Inn and Granite Inn and other businesses welcome pie eaters to sample pies.
Playtime at The Palace Children’s Shows at The Palace Theatre, Stamford, CT, on January 26-Feb 16 — The Palace Theatre in Stamford hosts lively shows for kids on three Sundays this winter. The Amazing Max brings magic and comedy by on January 26. Next month, the Flip Flop Circus on February 9 entertains with classic vaudeville moves. Mr. Fish and Fantastic Forces on February 16 teach about gravity in a fast-paced show.
Sun Wine & Food Fest 2020 at Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, CT, on January 24-26 — This festival at the Mohegan Sun casino features tastings and celebrity chefs and lots of good food and drink. Events include the Grand Tasting, Bourbon Tasting, Cigars and Wine Pairing, Vintage Cru, Brunch Battle and Champagne Brunch.
Northern Roots Traditional Music Festival at McNeill’s Brewery, Brattleboro, VT, on January 25-26 — A full day of workshops, panels, mini-concerts, pub sessions, and a dance band workshop leads by evening to a concert by of the northern musical traditions on concertina and banjo; nyckelharpa and five-string fiddle. Also: Scandinavian and English Country dancing.
Taste of Chocolate Weekend at Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA, on January 24-26 — Harvard Square’s restaurants will serve chocolate dishes of all descriptions and retailers will present chocolate specials and deals. The annual sampling of chocolate goodies will happen Saturday afternoon in front of at 31 Brattle Street.
