Green Gardens returns to Foxwoods Casino Sept 2-3

For the second summer in a row, Foxwoods Resort & Casino hosts its luscious outdoor entertainment, Green Gardens, a twilight immersion among banks of flowers, where guests relax in gauze-curtained private bungalows to enjoy music, delightful drinks and a lavish dinner.

Green Gardens happens on the grass-covered Fox Tower Terrace, but guests may feel a bit like they have been whisked off to a Mediterranean villa, with natural beauty tumbling into the entertainment space from all sides, along with roving performers and tableside mixologists.

Green Gardens repeats on September 2-3, 2002, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Seating choices include the Lotus Lounger, with Bohemian-style grass seating for two to four persons; Bungalow seating for six to ten persons in a curtained private space; and the Terrace, also outdoors, offering living room style seating for two to seven people.

The September event will be a perfect time to for intimate partners or a small gathering of friends to enjoy the outdoor perfection of a late-summer evening or to welcome a glorious fall. Dress code is casual chic; guests at the earlier Green Gardens dates this summer took the “chic” part of the code to heart, arriving and strolling through the green space in dreamy summer dresses, trailing skirts, glittering jewelry and makeup, all conveying the feel of a special event.

A menu of cool, colorful specialty cocktails on every table tempts the adventurous spirit; more-conventional alcoholic beverage also are offered. The arrival of dinner, all made by the Foxwoods culinary staff, feels like service for royalty. Stacked trays on the table hold a variety of interesting salads; platters groan with roasted chicken and salmon in a tasty sauce, roasted vegetables, and thick-sliced bread, a little damp in the middle with lashings of cheese. Dessert is a frosting-covered ice cream cake, its top carpeted with fresh fruits and berries.

Music by DJ Jericko rounds out the entertainment. After dinner also is a chance to try sipping on a hookah. Cost is $90 per person, entire menu included. Drinks are a la carte. Parking is at The Fox Tower.
